When the pandemic hit I started seeing school's go to online learning. I realized that the companies offering online learning services were not very good. On top of that they charge crazy amounts of money both per student and per teacher! I also noticed that students personal data are being shared with 3rd parties. The majority of these students are minors! School's need a way to control both their website and student/faculty data on their own servers and not have to share it with big tech companies! The Moodle software that we use is separated into two main sections. The "Teacher" side which allows teachers and faculty to create classes, assignments, quizzes, test, and provide the text and video needed for students to complete their work.
The students are able to login and complete their assignments, upload documents, check grades, chat with teachers and other classmates and much more.
Teachers are able to conduct classes online and students are able to attend the classes the same as they would in a typical classroom!
The Moodle software is FREE and opensource to ensure it is going to be around for along time! So far it has been used for over 20 years! Also being opensource You can check its source code for anything You might not like; or, change any aspect of the software.
